Carroll: An 18-year-old Canadian righty with off-the-charts potential (70/60/80 per my scout, OSA a bit more pessimistic at 60/55/80) who throws 94-96. There's a lot to happen between here and there but someone to look forward to following.
Route: With our supplemental pick for losing Jake Westfall, we doubled down on starting pitching with a guy we considered at 36 in Route, who also has eye-popping potential (75/65/70 per my guy & OSA) and is an 18-year-old righty from California. The usual caveats apply.
Ysasi: After playing the lottery of high school pitching we went more conservative with the 20-year-old Ysasi, from an Oklahoma JuCo. He has 75/70 contact/power potential but he might be iffy in CF with only 45 potential there. If the bat lives up to billing, I'll have no problem with him in a corner.
Aguayo: Buy enough lottery tickets and you might win something, so we went for another HS starting pitcher, this time a lefty with 75/55/65 potential. We could have a stud rotation as we hit the 40s or a bunch of wasted high picks.
Arias: A Colorado HS OF with broad-based potential (75 contact, 65 power, 65 eye), destined for a corner or 1B.
Fann: Rolling the dice again on a HS starter, this Georgia lefty has ridiculous 80 stuff and 80 control potential - but only 45 movement. If he somehow achieves his potential in stuff and control he can give up all the solo homers he wants (well not too many).
