National League Player of the Week
Rookie Ambrose Puttman was not viewed as a top-level player when he was selected as a 3rd round pick by the St. Louis Cardinals, though there was hope that he would provide help eating innings and eventually developing into a back of the rotation player. Well Puttmann's efforts have been very welcomed by fans and front-office staff alike. In picking up his 1st National League Player of the Week award, Puttmann posted a 2-0 record, with a 0.50 ERA in 18 innings of play.
