Led by the strong pitching performance of ace Rube Waddell, the Washington Senators (39-50) played well today as they topped the Boston Americans (47-42) by a score of 8 to 2.

Rube Waddell (13-12) had a fine outing, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 3 walks, striking out 8 to finish with a Game Score of 72. Sam Leever (12-9) was tagged with the loss after serving up 8 runs (5 earned runs) on 15 hits, 1 walk, and 1 wild pitch in 6 2/3 innings of play; Game Score 19.
