Game 93: Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Americans
A much needed win against the last-place American League team. While the game was closer than I would have hoped for, in the end the Boston Americans (49-44) topped the Chicago White Sox (37-56) by a score of 4 to 2.
Sam Leever (13-9) got back on the winning track, limiting the opposition to 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 1 walk; Game Score 73. Charles Bender (11-14) was burdened with the loss after allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits and 1 walk; Game Score 56.
While limited offense for the home team, Danny Shay (2 for 3, Double, 2 RBIs), Sam Leever (1 for 3, Run, Stolen Base), and Jesse Hoffmeister (1 for 3, RBI) did enough to held secure the victory. John Anderson (2 for 3, Double, Triple, RBI) and Mike Grady (1 for 3, Homerun, Run, RBI, Walk) played well in defeat.
Player of the Game: Sam Leever (Season: #9 / Career: #31)
