Snipers Win Boston Minor Series
The Trinity Plaza Snipers are champions, today and forever. The Snipers topped the Everett Mutant Hounds 4-3 at Memory Den Field today to claim the Boston Minor Series crown.
"Nobody can take this away from us, not ever," said series MVP and right fielder Vince Bamburg after his club had sealed the victory. "We worked hard and we accomplished our goal."
The atmosphere was electric as the newly-crowned champs stormed the field at the conclusion of the game. Fans cheered, gloves flew in the air, high fives and hugs were the order of the day.
"From day one of spring training, I could see it in their eyes," said Trinity Plaza manager Scrappy Barios. "The players had that look of intensity, of hunger, of a desire to accomplish something great, and today they did that. They're champions of the world."

Brewers Cruise to Rooke Series
On paper, the Beantown Brewers will be credited with a 2-0 sweep of the Castle Strength in the League Championship, to advance to the Rookie Series.
In reality, said starting pitcher Admiral Kelm, it was a lot harder-fought than that might suggest.
"They are a great team and although we won every game, it wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination," he said.
Beantown won the final game by a 4-1 score at Radio Freedom Field.
Kelm earned series MVP honors for the Brewers, with a 1.23 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched. He also had a 1-0 record and 10 strikeouts.
The Beantown Brewers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Clifton Vertibirds - Covenant Refractors series. That series has not started yet. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
Refractors Win League Championship
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the North League League Championship. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Covenant Refractors swept aside the Clifton Vertibirds to advance to the Rookie Series, winning the final game by a 8-5 score at Synth Sympathy Center Field.
The series MVP was second baseman Weston Railgun, who hit .500 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Covenant Refractors will play against the Beantown Brewers in the next round. Beantown won their series against the Castle Strength 2 games to 0. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
Rookie Series
With a 4-3 win over the Covenant Refractors tonight at Beantown Brewers Lot #1 Field, the Beantown Brewers wrapped up their 2nd title in team history.
Beantown left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Brewers celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game.
"Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Beantown manager Frank Hermit. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void."
A jovial mood filled the air as Beantown celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works.
"We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Beantown Brewers," the mayor said.
The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the South League Southwest Division and a 51-37 record.
