Struggling Canucks move veteran forward for minor league prospect
Nov 17th, 2016 -
As they come to grips with what is already looking like a lost season, the Canucks management team has moved into sell mode, and is already offloading one veteran early in the year with the trade of Max Lapierre to the Ducks. In return the Canucks get twenty three year old winger Stefan Noesen. Noesen is having a solid year in the AHL, with 14 points through 12 games, but the time has to be soon for him to crack an NHL lineup before he slides into a spot as a career minor leaguer. Perhaps this move will see him earn an opportunity and prove his mettle in the big leagues.
The Trade:
VAN acquires RW Stefan Noesen (23yo, AHL 12gp, 6-8-14, -2);
ANA acquires F Maxim Lapierre (12gp, 2-1-3, +3).
