The October 1 Super Post

CBO Players of the Month

NCA Hitter - Zeldolph Violet battered North Charles Association pitchers all September and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 28-year-old Violet told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 13 games, Violet hit .460 with 10 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 14 runs.

So far this season Violet has 44 home runs and a .327 batting average.

NCA Pitcher - September was a very good month for Eugene Gym of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists. He held opposing hitters for a .205 average and took home the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award.

In 4 starts he claimed a 4-0 record as he put up a 1.69 ERA and struck out 29 in 32 innings.

This season Gym has compiled a 17-6 record with a 3.26 ERA.

NCA Rookie - Youngster Ken Debate emerged as the latest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Starlight deserved the honor, batting .415 with 5 home runs and 10 runs batted in. Is the month of September a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Debate enjoy the limelight.

In 27 games this year Debate has posted a .359 average and put up these numbers: 6 home runs, 22 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

SCA Hitter - When Homestay Lovetap stepped up to the plate in September he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South Charles Association Batter of the Month award.

The young Spectacle Island first baseman posted a .420 batting average with 10 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 15 runs. Lovetap also worked pitchers for 6 walks to post a .482 on-base percentage.

So far this season Lovetap is hitting .286 with 45 home runs.

SCA Pitcher - When Hollywood Joe Horn takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Quincy victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 3-0 mark and a 1.61 ERA in 3 starts, tossed 22.1 innings, fanned 15, and held enemy hitters to a .145 average.

That's why the Gunners star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association.

For the year Horn has compiled a 8-10 record with a 4.66 ERA.

SCA Rookie - End Yamada's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Vault 81 second baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In September he was voted the Rookie of the Month.

During the month he hit .306 with 2 doubles, no triples and 5 home runs. Yamada also scored 10 times and drove in 13 runs.

To date, Yamada has collected 104 hits for a .292 average. He has posted 21 home runs, scored 51 runs and driven in 76 runs.
