Game 99: Boston Americans vs. Detroit Tigers

Staked to an early 2-run lead, it seemed highly likely that Jesse Tannehill would be able to cruise to another victory. Then again, things don't always go according to plan. In this game, the Detroit Tigers (49-50) mounted a comeback to prevail over the Boston Americans (52-47) by the score of 5 to 2.

Doc White (17-10) picked up the victory, permitting 2 earned runs on 9 hits and 4 walks; Game Score 61. Jesse Tannehill (16-9) was tagged with the loss after allowing 5 earned runs on 9 hits and 1 walk; Game Score 48.

The Tigers offense came from Nixey Callahan (2 for 3, Double, 2 Runs, Stolen Base), Tom Daly (1 for 2, Double, Run, RBI, Walk), and Mike Donlin (1 for 4, Double, RBI). Boston was led at the plate by Frank Chance (3 for 3, Stolen Base), Danny Shay (2 for 3, Run, Walk), and Jesse Tannehill (1 for 3, Double, Run, RBI).

Player of the Game: Doc White
