The Boston Americans pulled off their first trade in nearly 5 months, sending veteran 2nd-baseman Art Madison and a 9th round draft pick to the Cincinnati Reds in return for a collection of players that may, or may not, have some "prospect talent" left in them. Coming to the Bay State are relief pitchers Ernie Ross (former 7th round pick, current #70 ranked prospect), John Skopec, and Bert Husting. The Reds retained the prorated salaries of Skopec and Husting.
