Finally a Win for basement dwelling Canucks

March 25th, 2017 -
On the brink of a historic twenty game losing streak the Canucks finally broke through against Minnesota and, after dropping nineteen straight, came away with the 4-1 victory. What a relief. Derrick Pouliot opened the scoring in the second with his tenth of the year but Erik Haula equalized and after forty minutes it was all tied at one. The third saw Brendan Gaunce net the go ahead goal less than a minute in. Vancouver held strong and with three minutes to go Bo Horvat added an insurance marker. Brandon Tanev scored into the empty net to seal it and Canucks Nation breathed a collective sigh of relief.

In other Canucks news, newcomer Tyler Bertuzzi put pen to paper on a lucrative eight year extension worth a reported $3.41M per year. It's a big gamble for Trevor Linden, who's already on the hot seat after the team's freefall to the bottom of the standings this year, but if Bertuzzi becomes a top six winger they will have him locked up for a while at a reasonable number.
