With only 7 days left before the trading deadline, the Washington Senators and St. Louis Cardinals reached agreement on swapping ranked prospects. In the deal, Washington received pitcher Eddie Quick (#96 ranked prospect) in return for pitchers Arch McCarthy (#40 ranked prospect) and Arlie Pond. Not seeing the value for the Senators in this trade, as Quick only gives them an additional pitch (Forkball) and a tick faster velocity).
