Game 125: Boston Americans vs. Cleveland Naps

Another loss, with the Cleveland Naps (64-61) completing the sweep by topping the Boston Americans (68-57) by a 2 to 1 score. The loss moved the Americans back to 6 games out of the top spot with the Magic # now at 10 games; a 1% chance to make the playoffs.

Rookie Jake Weimer (17-13), the 6th overall selection in last year's draft, dominated the opposition and permitted 1 run (0 earned) on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score 78. Sam Leever (18-12) was saddled with the loss after allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score 63.

While hitting was somewhat sparse for both teams, there were a few noteworthy performances. Specifically, Doc Gessler (1 for 3, Double, Run, Walk) and Ed Delahanty (1 for 4, Triple, Run, RBI) played well for the Naps, while Chick Stahl (2 for 2, Walk, Stolen Base) and Dave Brain (2 for 4) played well in the loss.

Player of the Game: Jake Weimer
