CBO Analysis
Now that we have passed the All-Star Break, the CBO season is now 80 games in, meaning that 2/3 of the season is now complete. With just a week before the trade deadline, the teams competing for a title in 2306 should be active. Let's look at the Top 5 and then break down each league.
Easy Town, possessing the CBO's best record, is this week's #1 despite only going 4-4 in the last two weeks. The Assautrons split with Concord (#15), won one game over County Crossing (#3), and won two games at Nordhagen Beach (#14).
The powerhouse of the CBO, Roxbury is #2 this week with a 5-3 mark the past two weeks. The Rad Sox swept Quincy, won one game at Vault 81 (#6), and then won two of three at Egret (#11).
Three games back in the Brotherhood League but looking as though they are still in title contention, County Crossing is #3. The Bloodbugs went 6-2 in the last two weeks with a sweep of Fort Hagen (#12), won two of three at the Trons, and then won two of three at The Slog (#23).
The leader of the Institute League, Sunshine Tidings is #4, dropping because of a 3-5 mark the past two weeks. The Chemists split at Salem (#8), won one against the Silver Shroud, and won one against Bunker Hill (#17).
The team atop the Minutemen League, University Point completes the Top 5. The Deathclaws were 6-3 the past two weeks with a sweep at FHE (#21), a split in two of four at Goodneighbor (#24), and two of three against Jamaica Plain (#9).
Brotherhood League
This league is a two-team race for 1st and a two-team race for 3rd. Unfortunately for Nordhagen Beach, a 4-10 July has rendered them 3.5 games back of Salem for the last playoff spot. The Party Boys have been swept by the Witch Hats in both series in July, making the Hats the bane for the Boys in 2306.
Salem is a strange team to be nine games above .500. They are 9th in the NCA in runs scored (365) and tied for 5th in runs allowed (356). Their strength has been in close games where they are 14-8 (.636) in one-run games, and 5-3 (.625) in extra-inning games.
Institute League
Sunshine Tidings has answered every call, and so we think they are now competing for two things: another IL title and success in the playoffs. Starlight is fading slightly but still leads 3rd place Fort Hagen by six games.
The Killers were the most aggressive team to improve their roster for 2306, but not every acquisition has given them what they need to get over the hump. Perhaps the most disappointing has been SP Digger Vadim (5-11, 3.86), who has not pitched terribly but has suffered from bad run support. His ERA is the highest its been since 2302 when he finished 13-6 with a 3.94 ERA. That Red Rockets team gave him plenty of run support, though.
Minutemen League
This is still a three-game race, but University Point will be hard to dethrone from the top. Still, if the Red Rockets or Spectacle Island get hot, then this league could change.
The Deathclaws are still trying to figure out their pitching. While they are at or near the top in every offensive category, they are only middle of the pack in pitching, including 6th in runs allowed (396), 6th in Starters ERA (4.61), and 8th in Bullpen ERA (4.84). The Claw have been much more successful since the return of SP Tony Bertha (7-2, 3.29), but they are still waiting for the other three starters to turn up their production and bring down their ERAs below 4.00.
Railroad League
Like the IL, the RL is a two-team race. Vault 81 could overtake the Sox, but they probably will not. Oberland and Egret continue to hover around .500 and would have to really turn it on to have a chance at the playoffs.
For the Dwellers, they have been decently good all around, currently 4th in runs scored (434) and 2nd in runs allowed (324). SP Exxie Summerset (14-1, 2.45) has been nearly unbeatable, and should be in serious talks for the 2306 Vim! Pitcher Award. The other starters would need nearly as much success before Vault 81 is in the same conversation with Roxbury.

CBO Players of the Week
July 16 - Jarrett Metalbox made quite a splash in the North Charles Association this past week. The Starlight Killers left fielder drilled opposing pitchers for 10 hits in 24 at-bats to roll up a .417 batting average and the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.
He also contributed 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored to his club's offensive attack.
So far this season Metalbox is batting .318 with 6 home runs.
It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Diamond Ball, the Spectacle Island Reapers 22-year-old third baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 13 hits in 18 at-bats, compiling a .722 average with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs.
In his 2306 season totals, Ball has 44 home runs, .390 BA, .445 OBP, 92 RBIs and 85 runs scored.
July 23 - This week Dog Prairie, third baseman for the Easy Town Assaultrons, hit his way to the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.
Prairie put on a hitting clinic with a .500 average as he belted and battered NCA pitchers for 7 hits in 14 at-bats, 4 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
Prairie is currently batting .293 with 20 home runs and 63 RBIs.
This week he let his bat do the talking. That's why Knud Bather of the Vault 81 Dwellers was named the South Charles Association Player of the Week.
For the week the 28-year-old third baseman batted .583 (7-for-12) with 3 home runs, 3 runs and 6 RBIs.
Bather is hitting .289 so far this season with 53 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 92 hits including 25 home runs, 46 walks and .379 OBP.
