-First baseman Cap Anson and left fielder Jim O'Rourke are drafted into the 1903 class of the Hall of Fame.
-The Detroit Tigers traded 24-year-old CF Homer Smoot and 21-year-old RF Dave Williams to the Brooklyn Superbas, getting 36-year-old 2B Tom Daly in return.
-The Washington Senators traded 31-year-old SP Dale Gear and 24-year-old 3B Bill Coughlin to the New York Highlanders, getting 24-year-old relief pitcher Clarence Currie in return.
-The Boston Americans traded 22-year-old RP Dad Hale to the St. Louis Cardinals, getting 33-year-old RP Ted Breitenstein and 21-year-old RP Tad Quinn in return.
-The Pittsburgh Pirates failed to sign third-round pick Pep Clark.
