Trades, awards for July, and standings at the start of August 1904
-In trading news, the Philadelphia Athletics traded 20-year-old RP Lew Moren and 23-year-old RF Bob Lindemann to the Boston Beaneaters, getting 31-year-old LF Duff Cooley in return.
-The Chicago White Sox traded 37-year-old SS Frank Shugart to the St. Louis Browns, getting 27-year-old RP Bill Salisbury and 20-year-old RP Pat Hynes in return.
Awards for July:
2B Nap Lajoie of the Philadelphia Athletics wins the AL Batter of the Month Award with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs, and 21 runs scored.
3B Jim Delahanty of the Chicago Cubs wins the NL Batter of the Month Award with 1 home run, 21 RBIs, and 18 runs scored.
SP Hooks Wiltse of the Cleveland Naps wins the AL Pitcher of the Month Award with a 6-1 record and a 2.03 ERA.
SP Charles Bender of the Chicago Cubs wins the NL Pitcher of the Month Award with a 6-0 record and a 1.10 ERA.
