World Series - Game 3

Another exciting extra-innings game that ended in the 12th with the Boston Beaneaters (1-2) topping the New York Highlanders (2-1) by a 5 to 4 score.

While Pete Dowling did not factor into the decision, he covered 8 innings of play in which he allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, 5 walks, and a wild pitch; Game Score 47. Closer Vic Willis tossed 2 scoreless innings before turning it over to Ed Siever (1-0) who locked down the final 2 innings in the win. Barney Wolfe (0-1) was saddled with the loss after permitting 5 earned runs on 12 hits, 2 walks, and a hit batsman; Game Score 59.

Coming up big for the Beaneaters was Jimmy Sebring who went 3 for 6 with a Double, Homerun, Run, and 2 RBIs in leading his team to victory. Additionally, Emmet Heidrick (2 for 6, Triple, 2 RBIs) and Sammy Strang (2 for 5, Walk) help power towards the win. Lave Cross (2 for 4) and Barry McCormick (0 for 3, RBI, 2 Walks) made solid contributions to their team in the loss.
