-Starting pitcher Gus Weyhing is inducted into the 1911 class of the Hall of Fame.
-The Detroit Tigers traded 23-year-old RP Dick Rudolph to the Pittsburgh Pirates, getting 35-year-old RP Charlie Jaeger in return.
-The Boston Red Sox traded 22-year-old RF Paul Meloan to the St. Louis Browns, getting 31-year-old RP Chick Robitaille in return.
-The Philadelphia Athletics traded 22-year-old SHS Alex McCarthy to the New York Giants, getting 34-year-old SHS Dave Altizer, 24-year-old SHS Jimmy Walsh, and 24-year-old 2B Claud Derrick in return.
