NCA Semifinals: #1 County Crossing 3, #5 Nordhagen Beach 0

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 8 at County Crossing 15

Violet, County Crossing Open ASF Strong with 15-8 Win

The County Crossing Bloodbugs powered past the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 15-8, in the opener of the Association Semifinal at Beantown Brewery Stadium today. County Crossing first baseman Zeldolph Violet was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. The Bloodbugs now lead the series 1-0.

County Crossing grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cy Thompson delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 9-6 in favor of the Bloodbugs.

"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Violet after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 1 at County Crossing 3

County Crossing Wins Again, 3-1

The County Crossing Bloodbugs moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Beantown Brewery Stadium by a score of 3-1. Bloodbugs left-hander College Luckyman had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The win gives the Bloodbugs a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Any Why aided the County Crossing cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Why said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 3: County Crossing 3 at Nordhagen Beach 2, 10 inn.

Bloodbugs Cruise to Association Championship with Sweep

The County Crossing Bloodbugs have swept the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and are on to the Association Championship. County Crossing won 3-2 today at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to clinch the Association Semifinal.

"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said County Crossing left fielder Kurt Kilgore, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."

Kilgore won the award with a .538 batting average and a .571 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The County Crossing Bloodbugs will play against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in the next round. Sunshine Tidings won their series against the Easy Town Assaultrons 3 games to 0. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.

Home Field Advantage: Gym, Sunshine Tidings Open Association Semifinal with Win

The Sunshine Tidings Chemists started the Association Semifinal in style today, downing the visiting Easy Town Assaultrons at ArcJet Systems Stadium by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Chemists right-hander Eugene Gym threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

Had David Seaweed not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Seaweed hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Chemists.

After the game, Sunshine Tidings manager Ray Pratt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Sunshine Tidings.

Game 2: Easy Town 6 at Sunshine Tidings 7

Perez, Chemists Sink Assaultrons Again in Game 2

The Sunshine Tidings Chemists moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Easy Town Assaultrons at ArcJet Systems Stadium by a score of 7-6. Chemists left fielder B.J. Perez did some major damage. He went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win gives the Chemists a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Perez had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Chemists. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Sunshine Tidings trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run home run.

"It was a solid team effort," said Perez after the game.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 24th , 2306 at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 3: Sunshine Tidings 12 at Easy Town 5

Chemists Heading to Association Championship

The Easy Town Assaultrons were simply overmatched by the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in the Association Semifinal.

The end result was a sweep, as Sunshine Tidings has cruised to the Association Championship, with the final win coming at Easy Town Field by a score of 12-5.

"We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said B.J. Perez, who was named MVP of the Association Semifinal. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this."

For the series, Perez hit .533 with a .562 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Sunshine Tidings Chemists will face County Crossing lin the Association Championship. The schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.



SCA Semifinals: #1 Vault 81 3, #5 Jamaica Plain 2

Game 1: Jamaica Plain 0 at Vault 81 1, 12 inn.

Summerset Handcuffs Red Rockets, Dwellers Seize 1-0 Advantage in ASF

When the games really matter, the Vault 81 Dwellers put on their best show, beating the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets by a final score of 1-0 today. Exxie Summerset threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Vault 81 now leads Jamaica Plain 1-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Vault 81 second baseman Harry Byrd, facing T-Bone Heagy, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Dwellers the 1-0 win.

Summerset told the Vault 81 Chronicle: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 2: Jamaica Plain 4 at Vault 81 8

Red Rockets Hammered by Gains, Fall Further Behind in ASF

The Vault 81 Dwellers moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 8-4. Dwellers center fielder Stu Gains did some major damage. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win gives the Dwellers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Kory Richardson had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Vault 81. He came through with a grand slam home run to put Vault 81 in front, 5-0.

Richardson told the Vault 81 Chronicle: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 25th , 2306 at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 3: Vault 81 3 at Jamaica Plain 6

Jamaica Plain Breaks Through for First Win in Association Semifinal; Now Trails 2-1

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets got a strong game from starter Derek Green, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Red Rockets took the 6-3 win over the Vault 81 Dwellers in Game 3 of the Association Semifinal in a 9th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Green. Green threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Red Rockets to narrow their deficit to 1-2 in the best-of-5 series.

Dopey Meanie was the walk-off hero for Jamaica Plain. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Rockets pinch hitter hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.

"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Green.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 4: Vault 81 2 at Jamaica Plain 8

Raucous Red Rockets Stadium Crowd Propels Red Rockets to 8-2 Victory; Series Tied at 2

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets and the Vault 81 Dwellers will take the Association Semifinal to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Red Rockets beat the Dwellers 8-2 at Red Rockets Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Jamaica Plain right-hander Chris Deathclaw had a big role in the win. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball.

In the bottom of the first, Jamaica Plain center fielder Hid Matsumoto had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Matsumoto stroked a run-scoring triple to right-center. It made the score 1-0, Jamaica Plain. For the game, he was 1 for 5 with a triple.

"I thought we played a nice game," Matsumoto told the Jamaica Plain Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 28th , 2306 at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 5: Jamaica Plain 1 at Vault 81 4

Vault 81 Takes Association Semifinal in Deciding Game

The Vault 81 Dwellers and Jamaica Plain Red Rockets hooked up in a classic Association Semifinal that went right down to the wire.

In the end, it's Vault 81 heading off to the Association Championship, after a 4-1 win at CURIE Inc. Field tonight earned the 3-2 series win.

Outside CURIE Inc. Field, whether they were supporters of Vault 81 or Jamaica Plain, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget.

Stu Gains played the hero for the Dwellers in the series, as his MVP performance included a .353 batting average, with a .450 on-base percentage. He also had 2 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Vault 81 Dwellers will play against the Roxbury Rad Sox in the next round. Roxbury won their series against the Spectacle Island Reapers 3 games to 1. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.

Game 1: Roxbury 4 at Spectacle Island 1

Laloosh Handcuffs Reapers, Rad Sox Seize 1-0 Advantage in ASF

The Roxbury Rad Sox powered past the hometown Spectacle Island Reapers, 4-1, in the opener of the Association Semifinal at Drumlin Diner Park today. Roxbury starting pitcher Nuke Laloosh threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Rad Sox now lead the series 1-0.

In his 100-pitch effort, Laloosh allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 7.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Roxbury manager Coffee Kupp said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Drumlin Diner Park in Spectacle Island.

Game 2: Roxbury 2 at Spectacle Island 3, 11 inn.

Reapers Clip Rad Sox 3-2 in ASF Contest

The Spectacle Island Reapers nearly wasted a strong game from starter Isaiah Swindler, but were saved by some timely hitting in a walk-off win over the Roxbury Rad Sox today.

Swindler threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win allowed Spectacle Island to force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Spectacle Island won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Chet Arthur on the mound for Roxbury, right fielder Matt Basile hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Reapers fans to their feet.

"We'll savor this win," Swindler told the Spectacle Island Daily, "then get ready for the next game."

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Poole Handcuffs Reapers, Rad Sox Seize 2-1 Advantage in ASF

The Roxbury Rad Sox moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Spectacle Island Reapers at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 2-1. Rad Sox left-hander Whokill Poole had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Rad Sox a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Duncan MacCready, who finished 3rd in the SCA in doubles with 32 in 2306, helped out the Roxbury cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said MacCready.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 4: Spectacle Island 0 at Roxbury 8

Rad Sox Move on to Association Championship

Fans at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury saw the Association Semifinal come to a close today, as the Roxbury Rad Sox defeated the Spectacle Island Reapers by a score of 8-0, and advanced to the Association Championship.

Roxbury won the series 3-1 and will now continue their march toward the Sole Survivor Series.

"It feels good to be moving on, I can't deny it," said starting pitcher Nuke Laloosh, who was named series MVP. "Not everyone thought we'd make it this far."

The Roxbury Rad Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Vault 81 Dwellers - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets series. Vault 81 leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.
