CBO News and Notes
Bunker Hill and Concord Trade Minor League Teams
Influenced by the "Irish" theme of the Finches' franchise, Bunker Hill 75ers owner Lucy Abernathy announced that she wanted the teams' BMU and GBRL franchises to carry an American patriotic theme like that of the CBO team.
Therefore, Abernathy sent cash and supplies to Concord owner Sturges Freeman for the rights to its two franchises. Instead of changing uniforms, the teams will just swap affiliations.
The 75ers will now be the CBO affiliate of the BMU's Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials and the GBRL's South Boston Patriots. The Radstags are now the affiliate of the Arlington Caps of the BMU and the Westing Estates Gunslingers of the GBRL.
Players in each league are now on offseason break, but they will report to their new locations upon post preseason practices.
Starlight Still Looking for Logo
Fans in the Starlight area have joined the staff in not being excited about any of the alternatives proposed thus far. The Starlight Killers franchise is now reconsidering, including putting out the possibility that the team name could change.
Two new logos include a slasher in a hockey mask and a deranged-looking vaultboy. Logos have been attached at the end of this article. The Killers logo with the mask was presented in alternative colors.
Other possibilities that fans have requested are team names outside of the Killers name. Some proposals are:
Starlight Screamers - A nod to horror movies. This would also consider using the baseball eating a bat logo.
Starlight Stars - As a part of the settlement name and also as a nod to the large silver screen in the stadium's left field.
Starlight Valentines or Starlight Sleuths - Named in honor of Nick Valentine as the team's main sponsor.
There have also been other suggestions related to some of the movie titles. The only movie series not allowed would be characters from the Hubris Universe. Some older movies that have been popular include
Another Day in the Monster Factory,
The Barfly, and
The Tomb of Amun-Ra.
Information from Irish Cait's office has only stated that no decision has been made but there will be a definitive answer no later than the 1st of the new year.
