Goodman Blasts Bloodbugs, Rad Sox Take Game 3, 9-4

The Roxbury Rad Sox have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading County Crossing Bloodbugs, winning 9-4 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury today. Rad Sox left fielder Young Goodman went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rad Sox to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Sole Survivor Series.

In the bottom of the first, Goodman had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run home run off Whip Lashley that staked the Rad Sox to a 2-0 lead.

"We came out aggressive," said Rad Sox manager Coffee Kupp. "We came out swinging the bats."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 4: County Crossing 6 at Roxbury 5, 10 inn.

County Crossing relied on the bat of Any Why to get the win. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bloodbugs ahead, 6-5. For the game, Why had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Why said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Notes: Gavin Eviritts ties the NCA playoff game record for walks with 8.

Game 5: County Crossing 4 at Roxbury 6

Roxbury Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2

Whokill Poole was not about to watch an opponent celebrate a championship on his home field.

The left-hander pitched the Roxbury Rad Sox to victory at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury today, staving off the County Crossing Bloodbugs, who remain one game away from a title. Poole threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the series deficit for the Rad Sox to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series.

In the bottom of the first, Duncan MacCready delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Roxbury first baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Rad Sox in front, 6-4.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Poole said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.
