2307 Nuka Cup
We are now through the Round Robin Round of the 2307 Nuka Cup, so two teams from each regional are alive. The next round will feature the #2 team from the County Crossing Regional at the #1 team from the Vault 81 Regional, the #2 team from the Vault 81 Regional at the #1 team from the County Crossing Regional, the #2 team from the Roxbury Regional at the #1 team from the Sunshine Tidings Regional, and the #2 team from the Sunshine Tifdings Regional at the #1 team from the Roxbury Regional. We will highlight those matchups after a brief summary of each regional below.
Group A - County Crossing
The only series that ended up mattering in the 5th matchup was the University Point vs County Crossing matchup, and it was over by Game 2. The Deathclaws ended up winning all three games, 5-3, 14-6, and 8-5, to clinch the #1 seed in the regional and sending County Crossing on the road in the Quarterfinals.
Group B - Vault 81
The host Dwellers entered the 5th series as the only undefeated team in the regional, but they had yet to clinch their spot in the Quarterfinals. Facing Easy Town, which had a chance to move on with a series victory, Vault 81 said no. The Dwellers won all three games, 7-4, 11-6, and 5-3, securing the #1 seed and another three games at home.
By virtue of the Assaultrons losing, Oberland was automatically the #2 seed since they beat Easy Town in the head-to-head matchup. Still, the T-51s flexed their muscles for their bid to win the Sole Survivor Series in 2307, sweeping Quincy, 9-5, 5-4, and 5-4.
Group C - Roxbury
This regional already knew that Roxbury and Starlight were in. They just had to play to determine which team would be the #1 seed and which the #2 seed. Well, the Rad Sox showed who was boss at home, sweeping the Killers, 7-5, 9-3, and 11-2.
Group D - Sunshine Tidings
This was the most complicated regional with four teams needing to win and some help. Well, one team got exactly what they needed. Salem was already set at the #1 team, starting 4-0. They had to face #5 Nahant in the last regional with the Celtics being one of the four teams needing help. In the end, the Celtics eked out the series, winning games 1 and 3, 6-3 and 4-0, with the Witch Hats taking Game 2, 3-1.
In the definitive elimination game of #1 Sunshine Tidings versus #2 Spectacle Island, the Reapers took the series, winning games 1 and 3, 8-4 and 9-4. The Chemists won Game 2, 2-1.
That means, the other series, #4 Egret vs #6 FHE was a battle of teams eliminated since the Yao Guai needed the Chemists to win and Nahant to lose to have a chance to advance. The Ninajs had yet to win a series, but they got this one, winning games 1 and 3, 6-3 and 6-4, and lost Game 2, 7-6 in 11 innings.
With that stated, the Celtics and Spectacle Island finished tied for 2nd. Since Nahant won the head-to-head series, the team with the newest name in the CBO moves on to the Quarterfinals as the #2 seed.
Quarterfinals Matchups
The Brotherhood League and Railroad League lead the way with three teams advancing. The BL benefited from two surprises from the Sunshine Tidings Regional. The Institute League and Minutemen League each have one team advancing. The matchups:
County Crossing at Vault 81
Oberland at University Point
Starlight at Salem
Nahant at Roxbury
Looking at this round, we will predict County Crossing, University Point, Starlight, and Roxbury to move on with the most confidence in the Rad Sox and the least confidence in the Killers. Bet accordingly.
The Rad Sox have won the past two Nuka Cups.
