This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

CBO Analysis
The interassociation games for 2307 are finished, and boy do we not know what to make of it. Eight teams in the SCA are currently above .500, while only three teams in the NCA are. Overall, the SCA looks to be much stronger, but the current successes of some and failures of others will change now that the NCA teams only play each other, as do the SCA teams.
With the first Power Rankings coming out, then, it is no surprise that the the Top 5 contains no NCA teams.
Starting at #1, we have the FHE Yao Guai, which we do not anticipate to see this high again this season. The Yao Guai went 10-2 in the first two weeks, with their sole losses coming to Fort Hagen (#21) and Nordhagen Beach (the NCA's highest team at #7).
Roxbury is #2 after also going 10-2 with a 6-0 record versus the Institute League and 4-2 versus the Brotherhood League. The Rad Sox's losses came to Salem (#8) and County Crossing (#9), the only two teams other than the Party Boys with a winning record in the NCA.
Atom is the #3 team, also at 10-2 and another surprise like FHE. The Cats swept the BL and started 9-0 before dropping two to Bunker Hill (#19) and Concord (#18).
Diamond City is #4 after starting an impressive 9-3. The Swatters were 4-2 against the IL with their losses also coming against the 75ers and Radstags. They also went 5-1 against the BL with their lone loss coming in the 6th game versus Nahant (#16).
Spectacle Island rounds out the Top 5 with an 8-4 record, going 4-2 versus each NCA league. Their losses came against the Witch Hats and Bloodbugs in the BL and Lexington (#14) and Sunshine Tidings (#12) in the IL.
Brotherhood League
This league may not have any team currently making its mark on the way to the championship, but we have learned to take slow starts with a grain of salt. Nordhagen Beach, County Crossing, and Salem all share first place with Easy Town and Nahant currently in quick striking distance.
The Bloodbugs have already shown that they will be tough to beat every game, currently leading the NCA in all offensive categories but stolen bases and base running. Both RF Babs Rooth (.311/7/12) and 1B Zeldolph Violet (.304/6/19) have shown in the first two weeks that they will be in the thick of the NCA Nuka Hitter Award race.
Institute League
Lexington and Sunshine Tidings are atop the league at 6-6. The Chemists, winners of the IL the past three years, are the probable 2307 champions, too, in a weak league. Sunshine Tidings started out cold, going 1-6, before winning their last five against the Minutemen League with the sole loss coming to 10-2 Atom.
Bunker Hill is expected to make the jump to being a playoff team, but they have yet to prove that they belong, going 4-8 to start. Two of those wins came against Diamond City and the Cats, showing that they can beat good teams, but they are the only team to drop a game to Jamaica Plain. Converted closer, SP Jason Tonelli (2-0, 1.80) has shown that he was ready for the move so far. SS Aaron Squire (.306/3/7) has also looked like he will be a breakout star.
Minutemen League
We seem to remember this league being topsy-turvy before. With the Red Rockets holding the CBO's worst record, University Point at 6-6, and Atom and Quincy both above .500, we are pretty sure what you see is certainly not what you will get heading into SCA play.
For the Rockets, a near team-wide batting slump is the biggest part of the problem. CF Hid Matsumoto (.234/5/10) is not hitting well overall, but he has hit 62.5% of his team's home runs. LF Ken Debate (.194/1/3) and 2B Bulleye Shooterson (.214/0/0), who combined for 75 homers in 2306, are way behind their paces currently. A late-night trade for 3B Peter Tatoeater (.294/1/5) from Concord could help boost the offense from a position that was useless in the batting lineup before.
Railroad League
Everyone expected Oberland to make the leap to a playoff contender in 2307, yet they are the only team in the league with a record below .500. It is not over for the T-51s, but something must change immediately. Currently worst in the SCA in runs allowed (79), SP Trolley Dodge (0-3, 9.24), SP Ronnie Messenger (0-0, 10.12), and SP Chad Nailgun (0-1, 5.93) have been destroyed in each start thus far. The offense has been a lot more successful, though there is a huge difference from being 3rd in batting average (.298) and 9th in runs scored (57). They will need to figure out how to turn hits into runs more often and to quit stranding baserunners.
For Diamond City, there seems to be a rejuvenation of its aging pitching staff with SP Sheng Kawolski (1-1, 3.13), SP City Moore (2-1, 3.74), and CL Josh Samm (4 SV, 0.00) all looking stellar in the first two weeks.

April 8 - Zeldolph Violet punched, poked and pummeled the baseball last week and today he garnered a majority of the votes for the North Charles Association Player of the Week award.
The County Crossing Bloodbugs first baseman slashed out a .409 average with 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 5 home runs and 14 RBIs.
The South Charles Association made it official today: Ben Pettinato is the Player of the Week.
He really sparkled on the diamond this week with a .520 average to take home the trophy. The Quincy third baseman went 13-for-25, drove in 4 runs, scored 5 times and hit 1 home run.
April 15 - Kurt Kilgore went on a week-long hitting spree against North Charles Association pitchers and captured the Player of the Week honors.
The County Crossing left fielder battered the opposition for 12 hits, 2 home runs, 7 runs batted in and scored 7 runs. He hit .500 and posted a .556 on-base percentage.
Ajani Peacock is respected by most Egret Ninjas fans for his no-frills style of play. The 27-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .423 average (11-for-26) with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
