The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired minor leaguers Mikey Kane (2B) and Sebastian Keane (RPH) in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos and minor-league outfielder Zach Levenson.
Taken in the 2023 draft, Kane, 23, split the 2024 season between Low-A Kannapolis and High-A Winston-Salem.
In 91 games/90 starts, he hit .240 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs.
Kenne, 24, spent the 2024 season with Tulsa of an Independent League.
He pitched in a league-high 46 games going 2-2 with a 7.77 ERA.
Prior to that, Keane was drafted in the 18th round of the 2022 draft.
In his lone minor-league season, he was 2-2 with one save in 20 games/two starts.
Gallegos, 33, was acquired via trade with the New York Yankees during the 2018 season.
In his seven-plus seasons with the Cardinals, he pitched in 356 games going 19-21 with 44 saves and a 3.32 ERA.
The 2024 season saw Gallegos pitch 66 times going 3-1 with a 3.46 ERA.
Taken with the 158th pick of the 2023 draft, Levenson, 22, split the 2024 season between Low-A Palm Beach and High-A Peoria.
In 121 games/120 starts, he hit just .196 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs.
