The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the signing of 28-year-old right-hander Pablo Lopez to a four-year contract worth $36.5 million.
The deal contains a team opt-out for the 2028 season.
Lopez managed to go 11-10 in 33 starts the 2024 season for Minnesota despite posting a 5.04 ERA.
Prior to that, he had posted four straight seasons of sub-4.00 ERAs.
For his career, Lopez came up with the Miami Marlins in 2018 before moving to Minnesota in 2022, is 50-49 with a 4.09 ERA in 159 starts.
