If one is playing a development game this will have a great impact on the history-playing recalc it wont, but such ratings would still affect how the AI would draft pitchers in a recalc game.
There is no such problem for batters

I'm having the same issues. For instance, I have Bobby Jones with good current numbers but terrible Potential numbers. He's not the only one. I have to go through the draft pool and reverse their numbers to make them more usable in the game.
