Albeit I have a very small sample size, I am having much better success with the lab (around 50%). I am stingy about putting anyone in the lab who doesn't have at least high W.E. I choose a lot of players in the draft who have both Work ethic and intelligence and I also only sign international F.A.'s who have at least one and I tried to stick those types of players in the lab.
On the other hand I don't choose many of the difficult programs but rather opt for programs that are at most "medium." So that probably plays a huge role as well.
