It is possible to take a "single" schedule and apply in "double" for a league, but in this case of scaling back from a "double" to the "single", it requires stripping back the contents to the "single". Fortunately that is a pretty easy thing.
All-Star Game is kept in. That can be removed from the top of the file if you do not want it. Oh, now I finally notice the edit about the All-Star Game. I cannot say for certain, but I believe that these days the game does allow for All-Star Game in single subleague setup if there are an even number of divisions.
