#1 Easy Town vs #5 County Crossing

Game 1: County Crossing 9, Easy Town 1

Bloodbugs Top Assaultrons 9-1 to Begin ASF

The County Crossing Bloodbugs started the Association Semifinal in style today, winning on the road against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Easy Town Field by a score of 9-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Bloodbugs right-hander Gavin Eviritts threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball.

Eviritts, the County Crossing right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. He collected 7 strikeouts.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Eviritts.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 2: Easy Town 9, County Crossing 6

Bloodbugs Hammered by Samuels, Drop Game 2 to Assaultrons

With left fielder Sean Samuels leading the charge, the Easy Town Assaultrons defeated the visiting County Crossing Bloodbugs, 9-6, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal today. Samuels went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once at Easy Town Field to help Easy Town force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

In the bottom of the fourth, Easy Town third baseman Dog Prairie had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Prairie stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 8-4, Easy Town. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It was a solid team effort," said Samuels after the game.

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 3: Easy Town 8, County Crossing 4

Squirrel Blasts Bloodbugs, Assaultrons Take Game 3, 8-4

The Easy Town Assaultrons moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the County Crossing Bloodbugs on the road at Beantown Brewery Stadium by a score of 8-4. Assaultrons right fielder Dan Squirrel went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win gives the Assaultrons a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Squirrel had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fifth for the Assaultrons. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Easy Town trailing 2-1, he hit a 3-run home run.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Squirrel.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 4: County Crossing 5, Easy Town 4, 13 inn.

Assaultrons Hammered by Kilgore, Drop Game 4 to Bloodbugs

The County Crossing Bloodbugs and the Easy Town Assaultrons will take the Association Semifinal to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation at Beantown Brewery Stadium today, the Bloodbugs beat the Assaultrons 5-4 on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. County Crossing left fielder Kurt Kilgore went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when County Crossing second baseman Matt Stoops, facing Aaron Geneva, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bloodbugs the 5-4 win.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Kilgore told reporters after the game.

Easy Town entered the bottom of the 13th up by one after Dan Squirrel's solo home run in the top of the inning. With Aaron Geneva on the mound, the Assaultrons were looking to end the game and series. However, Kurt Kilgore and Taygun Topaloglu led off with back-to-back singles. Then, Jimjames LaFleur hit a game-tying RBI double, which put Topaloglu as the winning run on third base with no outs. Stoops then knocked him in to force a Game 5.

Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 5: County Crossing 11, Easy Town 2

County Crossing Takes Association Semifinal in Deciding Game

It took a while, but the County Crossing Bloodbugs finally disposed of the Easy Town Assaultrons 11-2 in the series clincher at Easy Town Field.

Winning the finale gave the Bloodbugs the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Association Championship.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to County Crossing shortstop Cy Thompson. He batted .375 in the series, collecting 5 RBIs and scoring 6 runs.

#2 Sunshine Tidings vs #3 Nordhagen Beach

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 2, Sunshine Tidings 0

Road Win Lifts Nordhagen Beach to 1-0 Lead in ASF

Beachboy Nut and the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys opened the Association Semifinal in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Sunshine Tidings and shutting out the host Chemists at ArcJet Systems Stadium 2-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Nut, the Party Boys left-hander, threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball.

In his 105-pitch effort, Nut allowed no runs on 1 hit over 9 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 6.

"Beachboy made his pitches," said Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Sunshine Tidings.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 6, Sunshine Tidings 5

Angelou, Party Boys Sink Chemists Again in Game 2

Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Jonathan Angelou, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a road win against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal today. Angelou was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 0.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Angelou. In the top of the eighth inning, when the Party Boys were trailing 4-3, Angelou delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Nordhagen Beach, giving his team the lead.

Chemists manager Ray Pratt did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 26th , 2307 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 5, Sunshine Tidings 1

Party Boys Heading to Association Championship

Depending on your loyalties, the Association Semifinal was either a lot of fun or a lot of frustration.

There wasn't much of a fight put up, with the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys taking a drama-free, 3-0 sweep of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists.

"We're in good shape going into the Association Championship," said Nordhagen Beach pitcher Beachboy Nut, after his team won the final game by a 5-1 count. "If we play like this going forward, we'll definitely win the Sole Survivor Series."

Nut earned series MVP honors, with a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Easy Town Assaultrons - County Crossing Bloodbugs series. That series is tied at 1 game each. #1 Roxbury vs #5 Spectacle Island

Game 1: Roxbury 7, Spectacle Island 6, 14 inn.

Roxbury Overcomes 2 HRs from Ball, Tops Spectacle Island in Extras for 1-0 Series Lead

When the games really matter, the Roxbury Rad Sox put on their best show, beating the Spectacle Island Reapers by a final score of 7-6 today. Diamond Ball belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Roxbury now leads Spectacle Island 1-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

In the bottom of the 14th, Young Goodman came to bat with the game in the balance. And he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single off Spectacle Island pitcher Flipper Squire.

"What a buzz," said Goodman after it was over.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 2: Roxbury 10, Spectacle Island 4

Roxbury Tops Spectacle Island Again, 10-4

The Roxbury Rad Sox moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Spectacle Island Reapers at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 10-4. Rad Sox right fielder Sum Downie did some major damage. He was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win gives the Rad Sox a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

The Rad Sox took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing Spectacle Island hurler Corey Ware with two outs, Downie hit a run-scoring single.

Downie said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Drumlin Diner Park in Spectacle Island.

Game 3: Roxbury 15, Spectacle Island 4

Rad Sox Advance to Association Championship

The Roxbury Rad Sox appear poised to make a serious run at the Sole Survivor Series after a convincing sweep over the Spectacle Island Reapers in the Association Semifinal.

It's now on to the Association Championship for Roxbury, who won the final game 15-4 and took the series 3-0.

"Everyone's doing their part and things are falling into place," said Roxbury left fielder Young Goodman, who was named series MVP. "It feels like a special year."

For the series, Goodman hit .562 with a .611 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 7 runs.

#2 University Point vs #3 Jamaica Plain

Game 1: Jamaica Plain 11, University Point 6

Zuniga Blasts Deathclaws, Red Rockets Take Game 1, 11-6

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets started the Association Semifinal in style today, winning on the road against the University Point Deathclaws at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 11-6 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Red Rockets third baseman Hazmatt Zuniga excelled. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4.

Jamaica Plain relied on the hitting of Damani Beebe to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Rockets on top, 7-6. For the game, Beebe had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Beebe.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.

Game 2: Jamaica Plain 7, University Point 1

Jamaica Plain Tops University Point Again, 7-1

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the University Point Deathclaws on the road at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 7-1. Red Rockets right-hander Dobbie Radoncis had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Red Rockets a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Carney Cornseed, the slugging first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cornseed contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put Jamaica Plain up, 7-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cornseed.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 3: Jamaica Plain 8, University Point 5

Jamaica Plain Sweeps into the Association Championship

Hazmatt Zuniga said he expected the Association Semifinal to be "a battle from start to finish."

In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets encountered little resistance in sweeping the University Point Deathclaws, to advance to the Association Championship.

"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Zuniga.

Jamaica Plain won the final game by a 8-5 count and were led in the series by Zuniga, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .385 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 7 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Roxbury Rad Sox - Spectacle Island Reapers series. Roxbury leads the series 2 games to 0. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.
