CBO Playoff Tree

#3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (74-46) vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox (81-39)

Season Series

Roxbury 1, Nordhagen Beach 0
April 13 @ NB: Rox 8, NB 5

Analysis

These two teams have now combined to appear in 8 of the 12 Sole Survivor Series. However, this marks the first season that they will meet in the biggest series in the Commonwealth. Nordhagen Beach is 1-3 in SSS appearances, while Roxbury is 2-1.

The Party Boys are good at making the SSS, but they have struggled in most of their appearances here, matching Fort Hagen for the most SSS series losses. Should they lose, they will have gone 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the full CBO.

The Rad Sox are now in their 4th SSS in the past five seasons. Should they win their third SSS, they would surpass Diamond City for the most championships and will by far be the most dominant team in the first 10 seasons of the full CBO.

Overall, these are the statistical matchups:

In the expected lineup vs lineup matches, Roxbury seems to have most of the advantages, except maybe the pitching matchups in non-Laloosh vs Nut matchups.

In terms of talent, the Sox seem to have most of the advantages, which appears to make them the favorites in the series. However, the Boys seem to have the most balance throughout their lineup.

In the pitcher vs pitcher matchups, we see it this way:

Games 1, 4, 7 starters - SP Beach Boy Nut (13-4, 3.48) < SP Nuka Laloosh (13-2, 2.99)
Games 2, 5 starters - SP Deedee Martinson (14-3, 3.35) > SP Urm Rehfeldt (12-5, 3.93)
Games 3, 6 starters - SP Ugio Church (9-11, 3.61) > SP Chet Arthur (15-9, 4.09)
Closers - CL David "AntAgonist" Kidd (34 SV, 4.11) < CL Andy Helium (37 SV, 2.69)
Best RP 1 - SP Tommy Beach (14-7, 3.98) > RP Justin Hale (6-6, 6.06)
Best RP 2 - RP Austen Austin (3-2, 3.34) > SP Whokill Poole (13-7, 5.51)

Prediction

Roxbury started this season looking as though they would be the best ever. They let the rest of the pack come back, but the Sox have turned the burners back on for the playoffs. For the Party Boys, they were good and belong here, dominating both Sunshine Tidings and County Crossing in the playoffs. For this first time matchup, though, the Sox seem to have the advantages they need to claim the 2307 title. Roxbury 4, Nordhagen Beach 2.
