Sole Survivor Series - Games 1 and 2
Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 9, Roxbury 8, 12 inn.
Angelou Blasts Rad Sox, Party Boys Take Game 1, 9-8
When the games really matter, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 9-8 today. Jonathan Angelou was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Nordhagen Beach now leads Roxbury 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Bryan Assman came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Roxbury pitcher Whokill Poole, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a solo home run. It was a game-changer, putting Nordhagen Beach on top, 9-8.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.
Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 7, Roxbury 2
Nordhagen Beach Tops Roxbury Again, 7-2
Starter Deedee Martinson was sensational for the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in his team's 7-2 triumph over the Roxbury Rad Sox in Game 2 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Martinson pitched well, but Nordhagen Beach picked up the win to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
The Rad Sox had trouble solving Martinson, who surrendered 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Martinson said.
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 12th , 2307 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.
