Keep in mind all of the text files were written when the game was text only. There may be some small additions/corrections and such since, but the base file was written for text only.
In that context the short pbp had to convey the ball location to the user since the full description was cut to, make the pbp short.

Ball location and velocity are annoying, but over time my ear has gotten used to it. IMHO the positive of being able to see the play and hear the pbp (for the most part "in time") without giving the pbp box a thought is worth the annoyance.
Since TTS only reads the text as delivered I suppose one could edit out locations? But I think that is probably a large undertaking or they would have done it already? In any case I'd love it if they did have a file without the statistical terms. I don't know if I've seen this in the suggestion thread before? Might be worth a mention?
