I looked into your save and everything is correct:
If you go to the Memorial Cup standings page you see that your team has "PASS" in the actual round, Gatineau (2nd seed) and Barrie Colts (3rd seed) play a best of 1 round and the winner of that will play you in the finals.
I simulated forward and it will happen as intended (I will not spoiler who won in my sim
)...
