Cards news: May 1 -- Team awards for April
Player of the Month: Gavin Cross -- The 25-year-old rookie outfielder had quite a month batting .313 with six home runs 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored in 23 games. He got on base at a .412 clip and slugged .711.
Starting Pitcher of the Month: Logan Gilbert -- The 28-year-old right-hander made five starts and went 2-1 with a 1.93 ERA. He pitched 32.2 innings, during which he struck out 32 and had 0.80 WHIP.
Relief Pitcher of the Month: Matt Cantertino -- Coming off an arm injury which ended his 2025 season, Cantertino got into 12 games going 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA. He worked 16.2 innings, during which he struck out 14 and posted a 1.08 WHIP.
