Thanks for Torrez, Lans!

Pete is still at AAA Spokane, but one player who has made the Mariners is reserve utility infielder Manny Estrada:

Originally drafted by the White Sox, Manny was an American Association All-Star at Denver in 1975. But when the White Sox shifted their AAA affiliate back to Iowa for 1976, the understandable de-Denver-ization of the players' batting stats was enough to sour the Sox on Manny, and a month into 1977, they sold him to the Padres, who gave him a half-season in Hawai'i before they let him drift down to Tabasco in the Mexican League.

However, the fledgling Mariners needed depth, and so Manny spent four more seasons at AAA mostly, before going into coaching.

In my game, Manny had a nice spring, and I preferred him over Mario Mendoza (sent down) and the veterans Ed Crosby and Jack Heidemann, who were swapped for pitching depth. Keep it saucy, Tabasco Kid!
