With Bill Plummer's best days behind him, the Reds have decided to have Bench backed up by Tommy Mutz. This is obviously a good idea, not only because of the great name, but because Tommy had an OPS over .800 at AAA Indianapolis last year.

IRL, the Reds sent Tommy back to Indianapolis for a third season, and he was eventually pushed out of the catching queue by Don Werner, who is on the right side of the second picture.
There are also a truckload of B&W action shots of Tommy as a 1980 Denver Bear, courtesy of Getty Images having custody of the
Denver Post archive, but I didn't see anything resembling a good shot of his face. Nutz to that!
