By going 2-for-4 in the Nordhagen Beach 8-5 win over Easy Town, Biter Trout reached the 1500-hit mark. The Easy Town Field fans, friend and foe, burst into applause and Trout's teammates hugged and congratulated him on his achievement.

"The guys began the countdown weeks ago," said the newest member of the 1500 Club. "I don't know who was more excited -- them or me."

Lifetime Trout has hit .354 with 1500 hits, 40 home runs, 602 RBIs and scored 669 runs.

Story 2:

Easy Town's Sean Samuels got the standing ovation -- but the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got the win.

It was a special day for him at Easy Town Field. A day when Samuels notched hit #1500 of his career. The fans went wild when he did. Even the Party Boys fans applauded.

The Assaultrons left fielder went 1-for-3 in a losing cause as Nordhagen Beach spoiled the party with the 8-5 victory.

In the postgame interview, a downhearted Samuels told the media, "We lost -- It's not about individual accomplishments -- we lost."

When pressed further, he admitted his pride in reaching the 1500-hit mark, "A lot of great players never get there. I'm proud, but I would be happier if we had won."

Taking a look at his lifetime stats, Samuels is hitting .315 with a total of 176 home runs.

I've definitely seen it happen before, but it doesn't make it any less interesting. Indeed, that's kind of the essence of baseball.
