Did you buy the game in the Steam client? Then the game should be just there for you to install. If you bought the Steam key somewhere else you need to add the game to your steam client first:
"Click the button labeled "+ Add a Game" on the bottom left on the Steam client and select "Activate a Product on Steam..." and follow the on-screen instructions." (from Steam)
