Game 3: Boston Americans vs. Philadelphia Athletics

A competitive game that ultimately turned on the sloppy defense (3 errors, 2 by Farrell) of the Americans. In the end, the Philadelphia Athletics (1-2) topped the Boston Americans (2-1) by a 4 to 2 score.

Earl Moore (1-0) allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks on his way to the 130 pitch victory; Game Score 63. Jesse Tannehill (0-1) was tagged with the loss after surrendering 4 runs (2 earned) on 11 hits and 1 hit batsman (103 total pitches); Game Score 49.

The Athletics were led at the plate by George Davis (3 for 4, Double, RBI), Larry McLean (2 for 4, Double, Run), and Billy Maloney (2 for 4, 2 Runs, RBI, 2 Stolen Bases). For Boston, offense was generated by Chick Stahl (2 for 3, RBI, Walk) and Jesse Tannehill (2 for 3).
