The sim module does not use the same lineup AI as a regular sim would, so you wouldn't want to assume a regular sim will behave in the same way.
I'd suggest making a copy of your save files, then running a sim through the season and seeing how this looks. I suspect it will be fine, but if you see the same issues there, then do let us know.
