At home to face the Padres.

San Diego is pitching Eric King (4-4, 3.72).

The Giants are going with Don Robinson (6-6, 3.73).

I am hitting clean-up.

I led off the bottom of the the 2nd by grounding out to Charlie Hayes at 3rd.

The Padres wer ehe first to score when Tony Gwynn doubled home Eric Young in the 3rd.
Then Gwynn scored on a Rob Lukachyk single.

Padres lead 2-0

I came up in the 4th with one out and Ruben Sierra on 1st. I flew out to Gwynn in right.

In the 5th, Gwynn scored on a Junior Felix single.
I handled a Lukachyk grounder for the 1st out in the inning.
Felix scored on a Hayes sac fly.

Padres lead 4-0

We cut that lead in half in the bottom of the 5th. First Rob Deer scored on a Craig Grebeck double and then Alan Cockrell scored on a pinch hit sac fly by Bryce Bernadin.

Padres lead 4-2

Bret Lachemann took over on the mound for us in the 6th.

I came up in the 6th with one out and Harold Baines on 2nd.
While I was up, Harold went to 3rd on a wild pitch.
I flew out to Felix in centre. Unfortunately, it was too shallow for Harold to score.

Mark Ross took the ball for us in the 9th.

I came up with one out in the 9th, and Stuart Rogers on the bump.
I grounded out to Hayes again.

We were unable to make up the last two runs.

I went 0 for 4.
