CBO Enters Final Week
With just five games to go in the 2308 season, there are six teams officially in, 12 teams officially out, and six more teams vying for the final four spots.
In the NCA, Salem has clinched the Brotherhood League title. Both Sunshine Tidings and Bunker Hill know they will be in the playoffs, though their seedings are still in doubt. That leaves two more spots among three teams. Let's break down the NCA first.
Current Seeds:
1. z-Sunshine Tidings 73-42
2. x-Salem 72-43
3. z-Bunker Hill 72-43
4. Nordhagen Beach 66-49
5. Starlight 67-48
6. Easy Town 64-51
Salem has been cold, dropping them from the top spot, though they know their lowest seed will be #2 in the Hats' first-ever playoff appearance. They were the last team in the CBO to have ever made a playoff appearance. Meanwhile, the Chemists and 75ers are battling for the Minutemen League and the #1 seed in the playoffs, with Sunshine Tidings currently just a game up. Since these are the teas vying for the top three seeds, let's look at their remaining matchups:
Salem - vs Bunker Hill, vs The Slog
Sunshine Tidings - vs County Crossing, at Starlight
Bunker Hill - at Salem, at Lexington
Pam's predictions: Salem 3-2, Sunshine Tidings 2-3, Bunker Hill 4-1
Bunker Hill would win the tiebreaker due to run differential, giving them the #1 seed, with Salem at #2 and Sunshine Tidings at #3.
For the other two seeds, Nordhagen Beach and Easy Town are battling for 2nd place in the BL, along with an outside shot for both teams to make the playoffs. The Party Boys swept the Assaultrons this past weekend, giving them a clutch series win down the stretch. The Killers could kill the Trons' hopes in the next two days. Remaining schedules:
Nordhagen Beach - at Concord, vs County Crossing
Starlight - vs Easy Town, vs Sunshine Tidings
Easy Town - at Starlight, at Nahant
Pam's predictions: Nordhagen Beach 4-1, Starlight 3-2, Easy Town 2-3
Based on Pam's predictions, the Party Boys and Killers will remain as the #4 and #5 seeds, while the Assaultrons will be out of the picture.
In the SCA, three teams have also clinched and six teams are still alive for the five spots.
Current seeds:
1. z-Oberland 71-44
2. z-Jamaica Plain 67-48
3. z-Vault 81 70-45
4. Spectacle Island 66-49
5. Egret 66-49
6. University Point 61-54
There is a lot to address here, so let us take on the most obvious. University Point needs a lot of help. First of all, the Reapers and Ninjas meet this week. If they split, they are both in. The Deathclaws needs one team to sweep the other and then the losing team gets swept over the weekend. The Claws would also need to win all five.
Remaining schedule:
University Point - vs Vault 81, vs Quincy
Egret - at Spectacle Island, vs Vault 81
Spectacle Island - vs Egret, vs Jamaica Plain
Pam's prediction: University Point will not go 5-0, neither Egret nor Spectacle Island will go 0-5. That means, the Deathclaws are out, while the Ninjas and Reapers are in to complete the final five.
In the Minutemen League, the Red Rockets lead by a game for the league title. As we showed above the Rockets visit Spectacle Island. Before that, Jamaica Plain visits FHE.
Pam's predictions: Jamaica Plain 3-2, Spectacle Island 3-2
That means the Rockets will be the #2 seed and the Reapers will be #4.
In the Railroad League, Oberland has a slight lead for the #1 seed, but they also have the easiest opponents of any other team. The T-51s host Goodneighbor and then visit the Yao Guai. Meanwhile, the Dwellers travel to University Point and Egret.
Pam's predictions: Oberland 4-1, Vault 81 2-3
Therefore, the T-51s are expected to be the #1 overall seed, with Vault 81 #3 and Egret #5.
