No, we aren't talking about Cup winning veteran Corey Crawford. 26 year old Jack Campbell is finding his way in the NHL at long last. The former first round pick took the long route to the show, spending three consecutive years in the minors after getting his first cup of coffee in the NHL at 22 with Dallas. His next sniff of NHL action was with the Sharks a year ago but he only saw five games, never registered a win and spent most of the season labouring in the AHL for the Barracuda. In his fresh start with the Flyers this year he seems to have put it all together finally. After claiming the starting job from decorated started Crawford in pre-season he never looked back, registering his first seven NHL wins in a torrid October that sees him leading the league in Goals Saved Above Average, a metric that takes into account both save percentage above/below league average and the number of shots faced by a goaltender. If he keeps this up he could be one of the feel good stories of the year after being written off by many as a bust.
