MLB news: Sept. 24 -- Twins sew up yet another playoff spot
With a 13-6 win over the Cleveland Indians, the Minnesota Twins have clinched at least a wild-card berth in the American League playoffs.
At 89-64, the Twins own a four-game lead over the Detroit Tigers with nine games left in the season.
Minnesota is tied with the Boston Red Sox for the best record in the American League.
This will be the fifth straight trip to the playoffs for the Twins, who have made it seven of the past eight seasons.
Minnesota last made the World Series in 1991, when it defeated the Atlanta Braves in seven games.
