And, among them, there are plenty of spring training photos, so was Alexander at the Braves camp in '79? It would be his final year in pro-ball in 1979. He had gone 15-10 between Richmond and Savannah in 1978 with a 2.42 ERA in 28 starts and 153 Ks, each being his career season best. Perhaps the Braves felt they might yet get something from him.

Roger Alexander was in the Atlanta Braves' spring camp in 1979, although he was not on their spring roster. A report in the Pensacola News of Feb. 27, 1979 said that Alexander had plopped Dale Murphy in the head with a pitch the previous day.
