July 8: Off Day.
July 9: vs NY Yankees 5-1 W. WP-Littell (5-4, 6.2 4 1 1 3 2). B.Lowe and Pinto had 2-run singles and Littell pitched well.
July 10: vs NY Yankees 14-2 W. WP-Olson (1-0). Starter-Bradley (4.2 0 1 1 4 3). HR-Caminero (10), Paredes (22), J.Lowe (7), Y.Diaz (8), Torkelson (2). Paredes knocked in 4 and Yandy 3 as the Rays romped. The only one who couldn't celebrate that loud was Taj, who couldn't make it through the 5th and pick up an easy win - he fell one out short at 103 pitches with some control issues.
July 11: vs NY Yankees 3-6 L. LP-Baz (2-3, 4.2 9 6 6 1 7). HR-Caminero 2 (12), Paredes (23). Baz got his Ks but was hit hard otherwise as the Rays couldn't quite complete the sweep.
July 12: vs Cleveland 6-5 W. WP-Civale (7-6, 6 5 1 1 1 4). S-Fairbanks (16). HR-Y.Diaz (9). Rays took care of the AL-best (59-34 coming in) Guardians although they almost blew a 6-1 lead after 7. Fairbanks got the shakiest of saves, walking 3 (and whiffing 3) in the 9th. The Yandyssaince continued as he had 3 more hits including a homer.
Transaction: Lefty
Andrew Saalfrank, whom we claimed on waivers last month and then got hurt (I think I failed to mention this at the time) was activated and
Reese Olson sent to Durham.
July 13: vs Cleveland 3-1 W. WP-Pepiot (8-6, 8 2 0 0 3 6). S-Adam (5). HR-Paredes (24). Pepiot pitched a career-high 8 shutout innings and Paredes knocked in all 3 runs on a 2-run homer and sac fly.

Jonny DeLuca was optioned to Durham.
July 14: vs Cleveland 2-4 L. LP-Kelly (3-1). Starter-Littell (5.2 4 1 1 4 4). HR-Pinto (8). For the umpteenth time the Rays had a chance to sweep and lost the third game with Cleavinger giving up a 3-run homer in the 7th with two of Kelly's runners aboard to lose it.
