Game 9: Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Americans

A nice outing by Noodles Hahn resulted in the Boston Americans (4-5) topping the Chicago White Sox (3-6) by a 3 to 2 score.

In picking up the win, Hahn (2-1) allowed just 2 runs (1 earned) on 8 hits while striking out 4 on his way to the complete-game 121 pitch effort; Game Score 69. For the White Sox, Chief Bender (1-2) pitched well but came up on the short-end of the ledger, as he allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and 2 walks; Game Score 63.

While this was hardly an offensive-minded game, there were still a few players who performed well. For Boston, Solly Hoffman (2 for 4, Run), Chick Stahl (1 for 3, Double, RBI, Walk), and Frank Chance (1 for 3, Run, Walk) played well. The White Sox were led by Duke Farrell (2 for 4, RBI), Lew Ritter (1 for 4, Triple, 2 Runs), and Hughie Jennings (1 for 3, RBI).

Player of the Game: Noodles Hahn (Season: #1 / Career: #62)
