New start up league.
For those who may be interested, I am putting together a brand new league:
- The main timeline of the league is to run through the real-life MLB offseason and complete playoffs just before the new OOTP game is released next year
- 1-day sims. Real, MLB players. Opening Day roughly July 15
- All aspects of the league will be at a working man’s pace. IE, slow! Drafts, waivers, etc will all be scheduled as such so that working people won’t feel like they’re missing out if they don’t log on 5x’s a day or feel rushed to make a selection in drafts etc
- Initial 65-man draft from scratch. Then team round after. Limitations on 1st year signings/extensions (more on that later)
- 1st year player draft in roughly mid-October
- IFA draft (yes, draft) around Jan 1st
- Formula to determine budgets based upon a few basic principles (winning %, in-game attendance, meeting set goals which you decide at beginning of season).
- All market sizes, fan loyalty, & stadium capacities set to equivalent upon league creation
- Use of historical stadiums
- Competition committee to ensure no tanking
- All significant aspects of league to be decided by majority vote
- True, realistic injuries (modifiers capping in-game injuries to XX days unless player has sustained real-life injury exceeding XX days)
- Vote to determine 10/5 rights, refusal to minors, etc
- Initial draft to begin roughly June 1
- DM or Email me any Q’s. I’ve got a lot more info, but this is just the basic foundation.
