CBO Playoff Association Championship Series Results

NCA Playoffs - #4 Bunker Hill 75ers (67-53) vs #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (76-44)

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 5, Bunker Hill 4

Home Field Advantage: Angelou, Nordhagen Beach Open Association Championship with Win

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys started the Association Championship in style today, downing the visiting Bunker Hill 75ers at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 5-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Party Boys right fielder Jonathan Angelou was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

Gorgeous DiGiacomo aided the Nordhagen Beach cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," DiGiacomo said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 6, Bunker Hill 5

75ers Hammered by Sinn, Fall Further Behind in ACS

Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Aaron Sinn, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys stopped the visiting Bunker Hill 75ers, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Association Championship today. Sinn was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

Gorgeous DiGiacomo helped out the Nordhagen Beach cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Party Boys Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got an exceptional performance from starter Ugio Church, who silenced the Bunker Hill offense en route to a 5-0 shutout win in Game 3 of the Association Championship today. The 75ers could never get a bead on the left-handed Church, who threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The Party Boys now hold a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

In his 84-pitch effort, Church allowed no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 4.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Church. "Successful pitchers do it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 2, Bunker Hill 1

Party Boys Dominate, Sweep Association Championship

It was a sweet sweep for the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys as they eased past the Bunker Hill 75ers to advance to the Sole Survivor Series.

Nordhagen Beach won the final game by a 2-1 count and the series 4-0.

"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Jonathan Angelou, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Angelou hit .562 with a .562 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Egret Ninjas - University Point Deathclaws series. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes.



SCA Playoffs - #4 Egret Ninjas (71-49) vs #2 University Point Deathclaws (74-46)

Game 1: University Point 2, Egret 1

Association Championship Game 1 Victory for Alexson and University Point

The Association Championship got off to a quiet start today, with the host University Point Deathclaws taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Egret Ninjas. University Point left-hander Alex Alexson was marvelous at Gwinnett Brewery Park. The Deathclaws now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Barker Cocoa dealt the Ninjas a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 2nd and University Point leading 1-0, Cocoa, who led the SCA in runs with 112 in 2303, hit a full count slider for a run-scoring single.

Cocoa attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.

Game 2: Egret 4, University Point 2

Egret Win to Pull Even With University Point

The Egret Ninjas topped the University Point Deathclaws by the score of 4-2 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Association Championship today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Egret starter Tup Mallory, who threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball in the win.

Egret relied on the hitting of Plump Jack Korson to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Ninjas on top, 2-0. For the game, Korson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Egret manager Cozy Burmaster said.

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 3rd , 2309 at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina.

Game 3: University Point 10, Egret 3

Engill Blasts Ninjas, Deathclaws Take Game 3, 10-3

Riding the 2-hit performance of shortstop Austin Engill, the University Point Deathclaws flattened the Egret Ninjas, 10-3, in Game 3 of the Association Championship today. Engill went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Deathclaws, who now lead 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Engill hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Engill.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina.

Game 4: University Point 9, Egret 7

Almost There: University Point On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 9-7 Win

With center fielder Aesed Hayjen leading the charge, the University Point Deathclaws got past the Egret Ninjas, 9-7, in extra innings in Game 4 of the Association Championship today. Hayjen was 2-5 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 3 at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina as University Point managed to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

University Point used a timely hit from Barker Cocoa to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Deathclaws ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said University Point manager Woody Lumpkin.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina.

Game 5: Egret 7, University Point 1

Egret Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2

The Egret Ninjas have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading University Point Deathclaws, winning 7-1 at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina today. Ninjas left-hander Tup Mallory threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Ninjas to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Association Championship.

Mallory allowed 1 run over 8.1 innings. He also racked up 12 strikeouts.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Mallory said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.

Game 6: Egret 6, University Point 4

Egret Win Knots Series at 3

The Egret Ninjas and the University Point Deathclaws will take the Association Championship to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Ninjas beat the Deathclaws 6-4 at Gwinnett Brewery Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Egret right-hander Max Grove had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

Plump Jack Korson, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Korson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Egret up, 2-0.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Korson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.

Game 7: University Point 8, Egret 3

University Point Takes Association Championship in Deciding Game

Depending on your loyalties, the Association Championship was either thrilling or heartbreaking.

The series went down to its final game, with the University Point Deathclaws and the Egret Ninjas giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Deathclaws came out on top, winning 8-3 at Gwinnett Brewery Park today to take the series 4-3.

"We're lucky to be going into the Sole Survivor Series," said University Point pitcher Aesed Hayjen. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."

Hayjen earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .355 average, with 2 home runs, 4 RBI and 8 runs scored.

The University Point Deathclaws will play against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in the next round. Nordhagen Beach won their series against the Bunker Hill 75ers 4 games to 0. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes.
