PITCHERS PREVAIL IN IPA FIRST ROUND; ELNORA AND HARTSDALE NEAR SWEEP; CRYSTAL LAKE AND KENWOOD UP 2-1
So far the pitchers have the upper hand in Islandian Pro Alliance first-round play. In the Ruthlandian Union playoffs Elnora hurlers have limited potent Forest City to 6 runs in 3 games and won all three games so far. Crystal Lake chunkers have held heavy-hitting LaGrange to just 6 runs in three games and lead the series two games to one. All three games have been decided by just one run. Over in the Tycobbian Union playoffs powerful Hartsdale has swept the first three games from the Cape Coral Hurricanes, allowing only 8 runs. The Kenwood Wildcats has limited offense-challenged Ozarka to just 5 runs in the three games with two wins and a loss. The Naturals' fine pitching is keeping them in the series.
