2309 Sole Survivor Series: Nordhagen Beach Party Boys vs University Point Deathclaws
Party Like It's 2309!
With their sweep of the University Point Deathclaws, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are now three-time champions, giving them a few historical accomplishments.
The Party Boys had already made it to a CBO-record sixth Sole Survivor Series. They have now won a CBO-record third championship. But beyond that, the Boys have done something else.
This was the second time the Sole Survivor Series ended in a sweep with the first time coming in 2298 when the Goodneighbor Hancocks swept the Easy Town Assaultrons. However, Nordhagen Beach did something that no other team could do: go undefeated in the playoffs.
The Boys swept County Crossing in three, Bunker Hill in four, and University Point in four. And there's more! The Boys' path also involved the other three latest champions not including themselves, with the Bloodbugs (2306), 75ers (2308), and Deathclaws (2305). Nordhagen Beach had the other championship in 2307.
The Playoff Tree is below, followed by the stories for Games 3 and 4, and finally the team picture of the champions of 2309. The Party Boys are ready to party out the rest of the year.
Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 6 at University Point 5
Party Boys Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-0
A sweep is in sight.
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys overcame a spirited performance by University Point second baseman Chris Recore to knock off the Deathclaws, 6-5, at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Game 3 of the Sole Survivor Series. Recore went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times but could not will the Deathclaws to victory. Nordhagen Beach now sits on a 3-0 advantage and has its eyes on sweeping the best-of-7 series.
Nordhagen Beach used the bat of Aaron Sinn to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Party Boys ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sinn.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.
Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 9 at University Point 8

It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, that meant the Commonwealth Baseball Organization Sole Survivor Series trophy.
The Party Boys took a 9-8 victory over the University Point Deathclaws at Gwinnett Brewery Park, winning their 3rd championship after taking the series 4-0.
Nordhagen Beach catcher Biter Trout earned Game MVP honors, going 3 for 5 with a double, a run, and two RBI. His backup, Clownie Blammo, also added two RBI on a pinch-hit two-run home run in the top of the 8th in what turned out to be the game-clinching hit. Pinch-hitting rookie Gorgeous DiGiacomo led off the clinching inning with a triple, followed by a Bobb County RBI single before Blammo's homer.
"We've got grit," said Party Boys third baseman Aaron Sinn, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." Sinn went 6 for 14 (.429) with two home runs, a walk, three runs, and seven RBI.
The Boys won despite ace Beachboy Nut struggling, allowing six earned runs on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout in 7.0 innings. Still, Nut (4-0) earned the victory thanks to the Boys' comeback. 1B Barker Cocoa of the Claws hit a three-run blast off Nut, his fifth home run of the playoffs, third in the Series, and second off Nut in the Series. He also hit one off Nut in Game 1.
The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League and a 76-44 record.
